We are seeking talented and motivated Software Development Engineers to join Amazon's LATAM Software Development Engineering team in São Paulo. This full-time, permanent, on-site position is ideal for recent university graduates (within the last 24 months) holding a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. As part of our team, you will leverage your strong technical programming skills in languages such as Java, JavaScript, and Haskell to build impactful software solutions that serve thousands of Amazon customers, including buyers, sellers, and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software solutions that optimize services, cost, and security.
  2. Deliver production-ready code with end-to-end ownership of the customer experience.
  3. Collaborate with experienced Amazonians to conceive and bring innovative products and services to market.
  4. Work on scalable distributed systems involving storage, indexing, querying, and predictive analytics at incredible scale and speed.
  5. Apply software engineering best practices to ensure code quality and reliability.
  6. Participate in an agile development environment to deliver impactful features on schedule.
  7. Contribute to architecture discussions and drive improvements in software design and team workflows.


Basic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent within the last 24 months.
  2. At least 1 year of professional non-internship software development experience.
  3. Proficiency in programming with at least one language; experience in Java, JavaScript, and Haskell is highly valued.


Preferred Qualifications

  1. 3+ years of programming experience including relevant certifications, preferably from top universities and programs.
  2. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and deliver robust software solutions.

Location & Work Environment

This role is fully on-site at our São Paulo corporate office located at Avenida Chedid Jafet, 200, Vila Olímpia, São Paulo - SP, 04551-065, Brazil. Selected candidates living 80 kilometers or farther from the office will receive financial relocation support.

Consistent with Amazon's Return to Office (RTO) policy, employees are expected to work five days per week at the corporate building.


Compensation & Benefits

The base salary for this position ranges from BRL R$10,000 to BRL R$12,500 per month, commensurate with experience, complemented by Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Sign-on Payments during the first two years of employment.


Recruitment Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Application submission
  2. Technical Coding Online Assessment (completed within the deadline)
  3. Technical Coding Phone Screen
  4. Final round of three (3) Technical Coding and Behavioral Interviews conducted in English

You will receive the online assessment within two business days after your application submission. This assessment comprises two parts: a technical coding exercise using a programming language of your choice, and a work-behavioral assessment.
